I was referred to Dr. Fuchs (by friends) for a knee injury that occurred at the end of December. When I called to make an appointment to see him, it was a seamless process. I had severe pain after falling on my knee and went to his office a few days later. His Medical Assistant Nori was able to fit me in right away rather than have me wait for a few weeks like some clinics do. She is very helpful and always aware of the patients needs. I want to thank Dr. Fuchs and Nori for their excellent care. He is a very busy doctor, but he took the time to make my husband and I feel like we were the only people there during my appointments. He ordered an MRI to make sure he was diagnosing me accurately. He took every precaution and set my mind at ease. The day after the MRI he met with us to review the results, examine me and he explained everything in terms we could grasp and easily understand. The treatment plan was very straight forward. He is one of the best doctors I have been privileged to meet and receive care from. I can see why my friends in the medical field told me to see Dr. Fuchs for this injury. From now on, I will certainly refer him to others as well. If you have knee pain or an injury, look no further. If I could give Dr. Fuchs 5,000 stars, I would
Dr Fuchs has treated me for various injuries and surgeries in the past 9 years. There is no doctor that is more understanding, knowledgeable and kind then he is. I will highly recommend him to anyone. If you have Shoulder, Hip, Knee or any orthopedic problem, he is the one you want to go see. Thanks Dr. Fuchs for all you have done for me, You are the best!!
Dr. Fuchs did a Total Left Knee Replacement, on me last, May 2014. Inspite of my post- surgery complaints, Dr. Fuchs told me that everything was normal for a knee replacement surgery.
I had MRI, with “ the prosthesis are in place; he sent me to Vascular surgeon with (-) findings; Ultrasound on my left knee/leg with (-) result.
I suffered for 2 yrs. post surgery, only to find out that the surgery failed per a second opinion Orthopedic Surgeon, Evergreenhealth Orthopedics , who told me to go back to Dr. Fuchs for a Revision.
If you were in my place would you go back to Dr. Fuchs?
But I did talk to him to do a Revision, since the second opinion Orthopedic Surgeon told me to go back to Dr. Fuchs.
And I cannot believed when he told me that if he will do the Revision, “ do you think the signs and symptoms will go away?”... And I even told him that we cannot predict the future. When I submitted myself for surgery ,do we know that you will fail the replacement/surgery ??
Revision was done at Virginia Mason Medical Center only last December, 2018 , 4 yrs. from the failed knee replacement surgery surgery ,2014.. since no orthopedic surgeon will do the Revision specially Orthopedic Surgeons that are with the ProOrtho/ Proliance Orthopedics Surgeons.
I was seeking consultations/ Revision here in Seattle, Everett, but all of the Orthopedic Surgeons thru their Patient Coordinators will call me / that the appointment was cancelled,” Dr. So and so doesn’t want to see you but go back to Dr. Fuchs.”
I went out of state, to the Oregon Institute of Orthopedics, who I really met, Dr. Thomas Huff who told me that the poly insert of my prosthesis is the problem and that I have to go back to Dr. Fuchs for a Revision, adding, “ I won’t do it .”
A friend of mine advised me to not to give up.
So I finally found this Orthopedic Surgeon at Virginia Mason, who did the Revision,12/10/2018,
for 45 minutes, Dr. Jonathan Clabeaux.
The poly insert was changed from a size 10 to a size 14 !!
Really??? For just under an hour, my whole life changed.. but wait what about the whole 4 yrs. I suffered because of that “ not the right size poly insert of my prosthesis???
The wrong poly insert ( size 10 ), was the one who caused all my sufferings for 4 yrs., and I forgot to mention that I went on disability from 2016-2018, I cannot work, I was killing myself for all the pains, instability, spasms, swelling on prolonged standing and walking, and all of these signs and symptoms that I have since 2014, I chose to stop working, went on disability and retire towards the end of 2018, just 2 mos. before the Revision.
The failed knee replacement that Dr. Fuchs did on me turned my life upside down, in every way, and most specially FINANCIALLY.. I’m still paying all the medical bills from that failed knee replacement because I was on disability then retired, in which the income that I received from my disability then to my retirement was not enough to pay for my medical bills, etc..
And Dr. Fuchs probably knew that the surgery failed “ I put in a size 10, because if I will put in a size 12, you cannot bend your knee.” I did remember him telling me this.”
Wobbles when I walk, swelling on my left knee/leg ,on prolonged standing, spasms, pain ( # 9pain level),everytime, sleep always interrupted, cannot lift 5lbs.+, or I will not be able to sleep for the night , space out my time when doing house chores, and sitting..
What a life, really, and what a story to tell !!
But my left knee is pretty much, much better than before the Revision.
Yes, pain is there but not a 9 or 10, but 2-3, and sleep is also much better now.. Thank you..
